Possession
Adults 21 and older are allowed to possess up to 1 ounce of marijuana, or 7 grams of concentrate, in public.
Adults 21 and older are allowed to possess up to 6 mature plants and 6 immature plants in their primary residence.
Adults 21 and older are allowed to gift up to 1 ounce of marijuana to another adult 21 and older.
Growing
Adults 21 and older are allowed to grow up to 6 mature plants and 6 immature plants in their primary residence.
Plants must be grown in a secure area that is not visible from the public.
Plants must be tagged with the grower's name and address.
Selling
The sale of recreational cannabis is legal in Alaska. Retail sales began on February 24, 2015.
Only licensed businesses can sell recreational cannabis.
Recreational cannabis can be sold in retail stores, dispensaries, and some grocery stores.
Recreational cannabis cannot be sold to minors.
Penalties
The penalties for violating cannabis laws in Alaska are as follows:

For possession of more than 4 ounces but less than 7 ounces, the maximum penalty is a fine of $250 and up to 30 days in jail.
For possession of more than 7 ounces, the maximum penalty is a fine of $1,000 and up to 1 year in jail.
